Upgrades to an existing California Bungalow to support a growing family.
Despite narrow site constraints, the new living spaces are generous and family oriented—connected to the garden, and centred around meaningful moments of daily life.
Where the existing house was disconnected from the landscape, the reconfigured home is open, connected, and robust. It is responsive to climate, adaptable in use, and crafted with materials that wear in and age gracefully.
A series of gables from the existing period roofline continue into the new form. Soft grey corrugated cladding settles the addition into its residential context, while north glazing floods the home with light. A steel and timber pergola, mitigates the heat load and provide a transition between inside and outside.

Studio addition to a significant heritage dwelling.
Clad in terracotta shingles, the new additions reference the clinker bricks and masonry details of the original English Revival house.
The studio provides flexible social and family spaces, connected to the main house via a Mediterranean garden.

From nipaluna/Hobart to Seoul. This fit-out was the first restaurant for its Tasmanian born chef and owner, who became the first chef from the island state to be awarded a Michelin star.
Raw materials are favoured over applied finishes, mirroring the culinary approach of the restaurant—which uses local Korean produce in a pared-back form that emphasis its inherent characteristics.
The fit-out was completed within an existing concrete shell featuring large tapered columns. Much like the food prepared in the open kitchen, the building’s structure and services are left exposed to create a sense of visual engagement with its function.
The restaurant was awarded its first Michelin Star in 2020, followed by a second in 2025.

Alterations to an existing period home on the steep slopes of West Launceston.
The exitsing house was introverted—a tangled layout of rooms lacking cohesion and flow. The new plan introduces simple, strategic improvements that completely transform how the home functions:
A new corridor is opened through the centre of the plan, clearly seperating quiet spaces at the front from social spaces at the back. This gesture also creates a sense of reveal as the home unfolds into the new extension.
Replacing a substandard lean-to, the new extension is modest in scale, but large in impact. Opening to the north to provide a bright, light-filled generous space for kitchen, living, and dining areas.
All new living areas connect directly to the landscape. The kitchen via a servery, the dining and living both via large sliding doors to external decks and garden.
